Ruby St., Suite 2, Ellensburg, WA 98926 <br />Fire Marshal (509) 962-7000 Deputy Fire Marshal (509) 962-7657 <br />September 8,2022 <br />To: Kittitas County Board of Commissioners <br />Re:Special Event-The Patch atJensen Farms <br />Kittitas County Board of Commissioners, <br />After receipt and review of the Special Event Application noted above, I approve the event. <br />The Kittitas County Fire Marshal's office shall require mounted, non-obstructed fire extinguishers at the axe throwing <br />station and the BBQ shack. The extinguishers shall be the A-B-C Type and 5lb size or larger. lf there are any cooking <br />operations on the property that utilize a deep fat fryer or similar cooking equipment, then an extinguisher in that <br />location shall be located not more than L0'from the cooking operation and be of the Class KType and have a minimum <br />capacity of 1.5 Gallons. All fire extinguishers shall be mounted between 3'-5' from the floor/ground. <br />The Fire Marshal's Office shall also require that the parking area (if grass) be mowed to lower than 6". <br />The Fire Marshal's Office shall also require clearly marked entrances/exits for vehicles and pedestrians, where <br />applicable. <br />Lastly, the Fire Marshal's Office will perform a Fire and Life Safety lnspection 24-48 hours prior to the event to ensure all <br />requirements are met and the applicant has time to remedy any issues previous to the first day of the event. The <br />operator will only be required to maintain the stipulations in the obtained Special Event Permit each week thereafter. <br />Allrequirements herein are consistentwith Chapter3l and Section 906 of the 20lS lnternational Fire Code. <br />Thank you for your time. <br />Deputy Fire Marshal, <br />Joseph A Dietzel <br />t
