Our agreement with FHWA requires right of way certification if additional land is needed
delivering project objectives. The county will not be able to deliver the required
turnaround — hence our desire returning the grant. As the snow park and nuisance
parking is not being driven by county action, PW believes the state can solve the problem
on their own without assistance from the county. PW will proceed meeting project
commitments to Fish and Wildlife building a fish friendly bank stabilization project—
allowing the road to remain without agitating DNR.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
PW has sought cost recovery from FHWA in the amount of $69,213.93.
ATTACHMENTS:
EXHIBIT 1: FHWA FLAP PROGRAMMING LETTER
Public Works "Work Session Staff Report", 2022
