He said it included a shared vision and plans as well as a
shared set of core values and functions. The goals included ten,
three, and one-year intervals, along with short-term (90) day goals
and action plans. Chairman Osiadacz noted it was the Board of County
Commissioners Strategic Plan and not necessarily the County’s.

Vice-Chairman Wright reviewed the plan and said the County needed to
try and work on different ways to streamline more for efficient
government. Chairman Osiadacz said they wanted to present the
document to the Management Team in order to keep communication open
and people informed. She noted it was a working document and as
priorities change, they will keep everyone apprised of them. Mr.
Backlund said the Management Team will be working on their goals and
then ultimately both groups will come together to possibly create an
overall County-wide plan. There is another Management Team retreat
scheduled for October 7th and they will be working on their own
Strategic Plan. Mike Hougardy, Assessor, explained how part of what
came out of the retreat was to work together with the Board of
County Commissioners, and by knowing they want to do the same, it
will keep the enthusiasm going with everyone.
