COMMISSIONERS’ MINUTES <br />HR STUDY SESSION <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – IT STAFFING <br />This item was tabled until the next study session. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – AIRPORT DIRECTOR RECRUITMENT <br />Interim HR Director Killgore inquired if the Board would like to include language in the Airport Director’s <br />offer letter to allow for a wage increase upon the successful completion of the first six months of his <br />probationary period. The Board supported the language and directed that the above language be added <br />to the Airport Director’s offer letter. <br />CLOSED SESSION – COLLECTIVE BARGAINING – PURSUANT TO RCW 42.330.140(4)(B), THE OPMA DOES <br />NOT APPLY TO THAT PORTION OF A MEETING DURING WHICH THE GOVERNING BODY IS PLANNING <br />OR ADOPTING THE STRATEGY OR POSITION TO BE TAKEN BY THE GOVERNING BODY DURING THE <br />COURSE OF ANY COLLECTIVE BARGAINING NEGOTIATIONS, OR GRIEVANCE OR MEDIATION <br />PROCEEDINGS, OR REVIEWING THE PROPOSALS MADE IN THE NEGOTIATIONS OR PROCEEDINGS <br />WHILE IN PROGRESS. <br />This topic was moved to agenda item #3. <br />The Board entered into a closed session at 10:04 AM to discuss collective bargaining. The Board exited <br />closed session at 10:26 AM with no action taken. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – HR UPDATES/STAFFING <br />Interim HR Director Killgore and HR Representative Erickson provided the Board with a list of HR issues <br />and projects they are currently working on. Interim Director Killgore requested that HR Representative <br />Erickson receive a $500 stipend for additional duties that she will be performing outside of her <br />classification while the department is understaffed.
