KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />In -Person and Webex <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM August 8, 2022 <br />Board Members Present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, and Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright. <br />Others: Mark Cook, Josh Fredrickson, Rebecca Cruse, Public Works; <br />Jessica Miller, Community Development Services. <br />At 1:31 pm Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />No comments <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH COUNTY ROAD PROJECT <br />(CRP) NUMBER SUPPORTING ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS TO MICHELETTO ROAD <br />County Engineer, Josh Fredrickson, informed the Board of County <br />Commissioners that in 2021 Micheletto Road was established on the <br />county road system. Josh Fredrickson explained that the road needs <br />improvements to the surfacing and an appropriate turnaround <br />constructed. Josh Fredrickson is requesting Board approval of a <br />Resolution to establish the project. Vice -Chairman Cory Wright <br />motioned to approve Resolution 2022-159 and Chairman Laura Osiadacz <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />FAIRGROUNDS SURVEY <br />Mark Cook briefed the Board of County Commissioners on a request <br />Public Works received from the City of Ellensburg and Deputy <br />Prosecuting Attorney Chris Horner to bring clarity to the boundary <br />lines between the City of Ellensburg properties and the Fairgrounds <br />(Kittitas Valley Event Center). Mark Cook stated that County Surveyor <br />Justin Turnbull would take lead on the project and estimated the cost <br />for the survey services. Mark Cook continued that the City of <br />Ellensburg showed interest in sharing the costs. Mark Cook requested <br />support from the Board of County Commissioners and direction that <br />staff perform the requested survey. Board of County Commissioners <br />approves of staff moving forward with the survey. <br />BOWERS FIELD (ELN) WETLAND MITIGATION DESIGN <br />Mark Cook requested the Board of County Commissioners support to <br />secure FAA design grants supporting the onsite wetland mitigation. <br />Mark Cook stated that grant match of 10% is required for the <br />anticipated $170,000 grant.
