KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: August 16, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution for an
amended 2022 Distressed County Sales and
Use Tax Infrastructure Improvement Program
Agreement with the City of Roslyn
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Conference of Governments
(COG) met on December 15, 2021, to review
submitted 2022 applications. COG
recommended awarding $262,500.00 to the
City of Roslyn.
After opening construction bids for the
stormwater improvements project,
construction bid numbers were significantly
higher than the Engineer's Estimate. In July of
2022, the City of Roslyn requested to combine
2017 funds to the original 2022 fund award of
$262,500.00 under Resolution 2022-128 to cover
overage costs, however, the project requires an
additional amount of $250,000.00 to award and
construct the project.
The Board of County Commissioners elected to
award an additional $250,000.00 to the City of
Roslyn under Resolution 2022-142 for award
and construction of the stormwater
improvements project.
An amended 2022 Distressed County Sales and
Use Tax Infrastructure Improvement Program
Agreement is required to capture the new
funding amount from the Fund 108 (Distressed
County Sales and Use Tax for $512,500) and
has been executed by the City of Roslyn.
