Josh Fredrickson
From:
Candie Leader
Sent:
Tuesday, March 1, 2022 1:16 PM
To:
Josh Fredrickson; Zachery Peebles
Cc:
Mark Cook; Tim Kauzlarich
Subject:
FW: Request to lower Speed Limit on Charlton Rd
Good afternoon,
Please see the request below to conduct a speed study and consider lowering the speed limit from 50 mph to
35 mph.
I'm not sure if any comments were made regarding traffic/speeds on the CUP for the venue on Charlton Road.
Let me know if you need any further information.
Thanks,
Administrative Supervisor
Kittitas County Public Works
411 North Ruby Street, Suite
Ellensburg, WA 98926
Direct Line: 509-962-7699
Cell: 509-201-2854
From: Hana Kriebel <hanakr@hotmail.com>
Sent: Tuesday, March 1, 2022 12:58 PM
To: Candie Leader<candie.leader@co.kittitas.wa.us>
Subject: Request to lower Speed Limit on Charlton Rd
CAUTION: This email originated from outside the Kittitas County network. Do not click links, open attachments,
fulfill requests, or follow guidance unless you recognize the sender and have verified the content is safe.
Hi, my name is Hana Kriebel and I live at 1161 Charlton Road with my husband, 3 young children and many ranch
animals. On behalf of my family and other families that live on Charlton Road, we are for safety reasons, requesting to
have the maximum speed limit on Charlton Road be LOWERED to 35mph or less between Wilson Creek Road and
Naneum Road.
Within the last year, Sweetwater Ranch opened an 'Event Venue', particularly for weddings and the amount of traffic
has increased significantly! These events bring in many 'Out of Town" guests and they are NOT aware of the cautions
that come with 'Open Range' roads. Our farms are comprised of livestock, horses, additional farm animals and also
include many wildlife crossings.
