KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />In -Person and Webex <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM July 11, 2022 <br />Board Members Present: Vice -Chairman Cory Wright, and Commissioner <br />Brett Wachsmith. <br />Others: Mark Cook, Arden Thomas, Josh Fredrickson, Rebecca Cruse, <br />Public Works; Jeremy Larsen, Jeremy Johnston, Jessica Miller, <br />Community Development Services; (1) Member of the Public <br />At 1:33 pm Vice -Chairman Cory Wright opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />WATER RIGHTS DEED CONVEYANCE TO ECOLOGY <br />Arden Thomas stated staff is seeking Board of County Commissioners <br />direction on sending a letter to the Department of Ecology. The Board <br />of County Commissioners commends the efforts made by the Water <br />Resources Staff and approves the letter as drafted to be sent to the <br />Department of Ecology. <br />VANDERBILT ROAD SPEED STUDY RESULTS <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on the <br />request received by residents to reduce the speed limit from 50 mph <br />to 35 mph on Vanderbilt Rd. Josh Fredrickson stated that Public Works <br />conducted a traffic study, and the outcome validates holding a public <br />hearing. The Board of County Commissioners directs staff to set a <br />public hearing August 2"a, 2022 for Board consideration. <br />HANSON ROAD SPEED STUDY <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on a <br />request to reduce speed on Hanson Road. Josh Fredrickson presented <br />the findings of the most current traffic study conducted from June <br />7tn to June 14th. Based on the findings presented the Board of County <br />Commissioners is electing to deny the request for public hearing. <br />CHARLTON ROAD SPEED STUDY RESULTS <br />Josh Fredrickson requested the Board of County Commissioners to <br />direct staff on setting a public hearing to consider the reduction of <br />speed from 50 mph to 35 mph on Charlton Rd. Based on the data <br />collected and findings presented, the Board of County Commissioners <br />is electing to deny the request for a public hearing. <br />2022-7-11 Minutes <br />
