BOARD OF' COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF'WASHINGTON <br />RE <br />NO.2022- <br />RESOLUTION TO ADOPT AMENDMENTS,TO RENTAL RATES AND FEE SCHEDULE AT <br />THE KITTITAS VALLEY EVENT CENTER <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas Valley Event Center has various facilities, with differing rental rates, <br />available for use for public and private events held throughout the year; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of the Kittitas Valley Event Center (KVEC) has the authority to esiablish the <br />various rates, discounts, packages, policies, and procedures governing the use of the KVEC; and <br />WHEREAS, a rate structure that is established by resolution protects customers from preferential and <br />arbitrary pricing; and <br />WHEREAS, all KVEC customers benefit from having published rate structures for KVEC facilities <br />available for use; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas Valley Event Center has experienced an increase in the demand for rental <br />space by serving Kittitas County residents, state/regional visitors, state/local government affiliates, and <br />emergency response groups; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas Valley Event Center has also recently experienced an increase in the cost of <br />operating and maintaining the facilities and amenities for KVEC customers; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners has the authority to establish or <br />affirm such rate structures and policy by resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, a Public Hearing is scheduled for May 17,2022 for public comment; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas <br />County, Washington, hereby adopts the proposed amendments to the KVEC Rental and Use Fee Schedule <br />effective on June 1,2022, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference. <br />I -lfh day ot l-(l,lJLttz- ,2--=T 022, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />OF COLINTY COMMISSIONERS <br />SHINGTON <br />/lilililll\\ <br />of the Board <br />ssloner
