There was discussion about the different types of agencies that do public health work (health <br />departments, single county health districts, and multicounty health districts) in the context of <br />addressing the local issues with ESSB 1152. <br /> There was discussion about how public health agencies are operating in other Washington counties. <br />DPA Hartung Stephanie discussed the other options and details involved in each option. <br />Director Tristen Lamb supplemented DPA Hartung’s presentation to help clarify some questions she <br />anticipated the BOCC might have. <br />There were questions and discussion about the health department’s, single county health districts, and <br />multicounty health districts. <br />Dr. Mark Larson added to the discussion about how each of the different types of public health agencies <br />interact with other county departments. He celebrated that no other county had as successful as a <br />partnership with their other county departments in the last 2 years than KCPHD did. <br />There were questions and discussion about the financial structure of the different options. <br />Commissioner Brett Wachsmith and Commissioner Cory Wright gave direction to staff to explore the <br />different options.
