<br /> APPENDIX III: SWOT ANALYSIS <br /> <br />Airport Strategic Business Plan, 07/26/2021 66 <br />A. SWOT Analysis Survey <br />As part of the development of the Airport Strategic Business Plan (ASBP) for the Bowers <br />Field Airport (ELN), an ELN SWOT Analysis Survey was sent out to the ELN Strategic <br />Plan Steering Committee Members (Steering Committee) on Friday, November 20, 2020. <br />There was a total of 11 survey responses received from the following stakeholder groups: <br /> Two (2) – Airport Sponsor (County) Elected Official, Management, or Staff <br /> Two (2) – Airport Management or Staff <br /> Two (2) – Airport Tenant or User <br /> Three (3) – Community Organization Representative <br /> Two (3) – Other <br />B. SWOT Analysis Purpose <br />The purpose of the SWOT Analysis is to identify the "actual" and "perceived" Airport <br />(including the business park) strengths and weaknesses (from an "internal" perspective) <br />and opportunities and threats (from an "external" perspective). The results of the SWOT <br />Analysis serve to compile the Steering Committee's perception of the Airport and set the <br />stage for developing the Airport's mission, vision, and goals. <br />C. Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats <br /> Strengths – internal items (to the County and Airport) accomplished particularly <br />well or unique assets of the Airport, especially in comparison to competitive and <br />comparable airports. Strengths need to be preserved, built on, and leveraged. <br /> Weaknesses – internal items (to the County and Airport) that: (1) are not <br />accomplished particularly well; (2) hinder or prevent desired performance; or (3) <br />are acutely lacking or need to be improved. Weaknesses need to be addressed <br />and remedied. <br /> Opportunities – external items (to the County and Airport) that could help realize <br />the mission and vision for the Airport. Opportunities are typically identified by <br />studying changes or trends in the industry, the marketplace, and the community (or <br />at the Airport). Opportunities need to be seized or capitalized on. <br /> Threats – external items (to the County and Airport) that could threaten the <br />realization of the Airport's mission and vision. Threats are typically identified by <br />studying changes or trends within the industry, the community, and the market (or <br />at the Airport). Threats need to be managed or, if possible, eliminate
