2) There will be no closures of County Roads and there <br />will be sufficient signage and traffic control at all <br />intersections. <br /> <br />3) There will be no road closures for the following: Berry, <br />Wood House Loop and the County portion of Canyon <br />Road for the duration of the race, noting there needs to <br />be sufficient traffic control at all of those intersections. <br /> <br />Sheriff’s Office has requested the following: <br /> <br />State DoT and WSP Approval for legs of the race occurring <br />on State Highways and to allow Local residents and <br />recreationalists access to the Canyon. <br /> <br />Treasurer’s Office has requested the following: <br /> <br />Provide proper exemption documentation for non-profit <br />status and approve as to form. <br /> <br />Fire Marshal has stated the following: <br /> <br />1) EMS providers will utilize the 911 system to request <br />ambulances if needed for transport. <br />2) Selah Fire Department in Yakima County will provide <br />the EMS coverage indicated on your event application. <br /> <br />~ Note all feedback was sent to the race coordinator on <br />3/12/2022 <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Special Event Application to hold the annual <br />Yakima River Canyon Marathon on Saturday April 2, <br />2022. <br /> <br />HANDLING: BOCC Staff to send notice to applicant and notify County <br />Departments.
