development of new businesses (Policy B) as exampled by our continued work <br />with site locators, developers and real estate professionals interested in locating <br />a business in Ellensburg. Too, we are in the process of performing a market <br />research project to help best understand the needs of developers interested in <br />Ellensburg and how we can improve service delivery. We encourage <br />development of light industrial uses within the City of Ellensburg (Policy D) as <br />exampled by connecting prospective developers and businesses to commercial/ <br />light industrial space to start and grow businesses. <br />We seek opportunities to grow and sustain a qualified workforce (Goal ED-3) by <br />coordinating with local high schools, higher education institutions, workforce <br />development, vocational rehabilitation, and local businesses to train a workforce <br />that is prepared for emerging job markets (Policy A) as exampled by our active <br />participation in the region's COVID-19 Community Coordinating Committee and <br />CAPS effort. Too, we are a partner on a Build Back Better grant that would <br />increase student enrollment at Central Washington University and be a <br />springboard for future supply chain businesses. <br />We emphasize economic development of downtown as an economic, tourist, <br />retail, art and cultural, and event destination (Goal ED4) by partnering with local <br />organizations to implement the downtown economic development plan (Policy B) <br />as exampled by our active involvement and financial commitment to the <br />Creative District planning process, and our work with business startups wishing <br />to locate in the downtown core, <br />Gommunlty Action Plan (or other community-based plan) - Ofilcially adopted <br />Gommunlty Action Plan (or other community-based plan) - Officially Adopted <br />o CenterFuse Strategic Work Plan - board reviewed November 10,2021; adoption <br />with minor edits November 10, 2O21tor work in 2022. <br />CenterFuse's Executive Director position is responsible for carrying out the <br />CenterFuse Work Plan as described below: <br />fSissi*rr <br />The mission of the CenterFuse (Ellensburg Business Development Authority) is to <br />strategically recruit businesses, and connect them to resources so they can start, grow, <br />and prosper. <br />Statement of Purpose <br />We seek to diversify and strengthen our economy by increasing high wage employment <br />opportunities.
