l. Law enforcement may provide security and traffic control at PODs. Law enforcement <br />officer posts will be determined based upon need. <br />2.The Kittitas County Public Works Department or Kittitas County Search and Rescue <br />may assist with traffic control. <br />3. Kittitas County Medical Reserve Corp volunteers will assist with vaccine/and or <br />administer medicine. <br />4. Kittitas Valley Healthcare may assist with medical personnel. <br />5. Emergency Management will direct the County EOC and coordinate emergency <br />response activities in accordance with existing procedures. <br />6. Transportation for people with function or access needs may be available through <br />Hopesource and Ellensburg School District. <br />7. Fire and Emergency Medical Services and WAserv volunteers may support clinic <br />operations, as needed. <br />V. OPERATIONS: <br />A. KCPHD (Via Kittitas County Emergency ManagemenQ will request deployment of resources <br />as circumstances warrant when the local Health Offrcer or designee determines it is necessary to <br />protect the public's health. <br />The determination to request resources from the state will be based upon the local Health <br />Officer's assessment of the need for additional medical materials based upon coordination with <br />the local hospital and other healthcare entities including pharmacies, healthcare providers, and <br />local officials. <br />Requests to the state would be in broad terms, for example, "prophylaxis medical <br />countermeasures for 3 0, 0 00 against Tularemia. " <br />B. Within Kittitas County, the following individuals may request the deployment of SNS <br />material and/or resources : <br />l. Local Health Officer, KCPHD Administrator, or designee <br />2. Local Emergency Response Coordinator (LERC) for KCPHD <br />3. Emergency Management Director for Kittitas County <br />4. Kittitas County Board of Health <br />C. Resupply of medical materials will be initiated as circumstances warrant. Any resupply <br />request will be coordinated by the Inventory Leader and will be approved by the Health Officer. <br />Requests for additional supplies will also be forwarded to the EOC for records. <br />D. Receiving SNS Material <br />1. The Washington State Department will be responsible for the following SNS activities: <br />a. Formally request the SNS from federal authorities <br />b. Receive and breakdown the SNS, repackage into unit doses, and affix labels. <br />c. Ship SNS resources to the POD locations designated by KCPHD <br />47
