KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />Webex <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:31 PM January 24, 2022 <br />Board members: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner Brett Wachsmith <br />Virtual: Vice -Chairman Cory Wright. <br />Others: Josh Fredrickson, Rebecca Cruse, Arden Thomas, Public Works; <br />Carly Brettmann, Communications; Jeremy Johnston, Virtual: Jessica <br />Miller, Community Development Services; (1) One Member of the Public. <br />At 1:40 pm Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHAIR SIGNATURE ON THE <br />DIGITAL SUBMITTAL CERTIFICATION OF THE ROAD LEVY CERTIFICATION TO THE <br />COUNTY ROAD ADMINISTRATION BOARD <br />Josh Fredrickson requested the Board of County Commissioners approval <br />on the Road Levy Certification. Commissioner Brett Wachsmith made a <br />motion to approve Resolution No. 2022-016 with Vice -Chairman Cory <br />Wright seconding the motion. Motion passed 3-0. <br />It is to be noted that the Resolution No. would be changed due to an <br />error in duplicating the number and would now be known as 2022-023. <br />OTHER BUSINESS- MCELROY ROAD BRIDGE PERMITTING DISCUSSION <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board on communications between Public <br />Works and several entities involved with the replacement of the <br />failed McElroy Road Bridge. Josh Fredrickson stated that staff is <br />requesting Board direction to waive the permit fees for installation <br />of a temporary bridge. Arden Thomas, Water Resources Manager, gave <br />insight into the communities' intention to only make minor <br />modifications, and salvage most of the original structure. Arden <br />Thomas added that she is working with the Department of Ecology and <br />they are helping to fund an assessment of hydraulics in the reach to <br />ensure the replacement of the structure doesn't increase flooding <br />risk to area residences. Staff was directed to prepare enabling <br />documents for consideration. <br />Meeting adjourned at 1:54 pm. <br />2022-1-24 Minutes <br />
