Project the fully implemented local plans on the number of households
J-7 housed and the number of households left unsheltered, assuming existingL!-r resources and state policies.
This project will add an additional 5 units to the County homeless stock, a priority of
Objective 4 in the recently updated homeless plan. The plan also shows an increased
need for housing that targets senior, disabled, and veteran households who are rapidly
being priced out of the market. This project will also serve as a template for other
developers in the community to add density and housing affordability. Homeless
households will be placed through Coordinated Entry, which will reduce pressure on
homeless response system in the county.
Fl oOUr*rs racial disparities amongst people experiencing homelessness.
H-opeSource recognizes that race and economic status can significantly limit the opportunities
of program participants and acknowledge the unequal impact of these factors and works to
prepare program participants to overcome systemic racism in housing, education, asset
building, income, employment, and access to high-quality food. lt is de expectation that
employees are sensitive to all diversity within the population of persons served by the
organization and the employee workforce.
f,fOtf'.t information you think would be beneficialfor the Committee to know,
HopeSource priorities and the priorities of the Homeless and Affordable Housing committee
are strongly aligned with Governor lnslee's Reducing Poverty and tneguality 10-year plan. All of
those projected to be served by this funding will have housing stabilitv plans including
education and employment plans, HopeSource's Hope Univeisity provides in-person ind
virtual coaching in life skills such as basic budgeting, credit and debt, smart spending, stress
managernent, and healthy living to ensure they are able to maintain their independence in the
long term.
