Methodology <br />Narrative* <br />l,lease explailt. <br />Being a small rnuseum, WSSSM hosts welcome each and every guest into the <br />museum and have a chance to chat and say hello. Volunteers are trained to count <br />each and every guest and are now asking zip code and if and where lhe person has <br />stayed overnighl and where. This "Djrect Count" method will be invaluable rn 2022. <br />Attached is the wsssM operations checklist form that is used by our volunteers to <br />track information about visitors. <br />we will also work with rhe surnmit lnn. our host hotel. to obtain detailed information <br />on heads in beds as a result of our in-person events for 2022. <br />The past actual used in this report are number front 20'19. the last full year WSSSM <br />was open. The attached repod shows details of our visitor survey. <br />. ln 2019, we were open 4 days a ureek (Thurs-Sun) with an average of 2g visitors <br />per day. <br />. ln 2A20. from January-March 15. lraffic was up to 37 visitors per day. We then <br />closed for Covid until Sept. 26 when we opened up for just 15 days (Sept. 26-Nov. <br />15) and had an average of 10 visiiors per day (open just 2 days per week. Sat/Sr"rn). <br />We missed Dec 2020 due to Covid. <br />. ln 2021. we were closed Jan and Feb due to Covid which would have been a very <br />blisy tinre ai tlre museum. We open Feb. 20 and traffic was slow until May 30 with <br />just 13 visitors per day open Sat/Sun as the community began to open up. ln <br />JuneiJuly and August (which coincided with our adverlising) traffic really increased <br />to 35 per day. ln September 2021. we were at 28 people per day. <br />. For 2022. we project to be open 3 days a week (Fri-Sun) and hopefully Frj and Sat <br />nights (5-8 pm). With a projected average of 34 visitors per day (more in winter and <br />sumnrer and less in spring and fall) that puts us back to 5,304 visits per year. <br />zil1A .han.le. li(i1ii <br />Application Questions. The purpose of the <br />grant was to cover expenses incurred between March 1. 2020, and June 30. 2021, <br />due to financial hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
