BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />R E S O L U T I O N <br />NO. ___________ <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO PAY REMAINING <br />CONSTRUCTION COSTS TO THE CITY OF ELLENSBURG COMPLETING THE <br />UNIVERSITY WAY/REECER CREEK INTERSECTION TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The City of Ellensburg requires signalization of the University Way/Reecer <br />Creek Road intersection as a condition of approval supporting relocation of <br />the Solid Waste Transfer Station; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Public Works paid for signalization design and granted the City of Ellensburg <br />construction funding through a Surface Transportation Block Grant <br />supporting Transfer Station development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Surface Transportation Block Grant to the City of Ellensburg requires a <br />local match of $74,672.72; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Public Works proposes paying the local match with funding reserves and <br />subsequently seeking pro rata cost recovery from Solid Waste for their share <br />of signalization expense. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners, after due <br />consideration, does hereby authorize the Director of Public Works to pay the local match of <br />the City of Ellensburg’s Transportation Block Grant signalizing the University Way/Reecer <br />Creek intersection in the amount of $74,672.42. <br /> <br />DATED this 1st day of February 2022, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br /> <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br /> ________________________________ <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Chairman <br />Attest: <br /> <br />☐ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik ______________________________ <br />Cory Wright, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br />☐ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br /> _______________________________ _______________________________ <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner
