RESOLUTION NO. 2O2I - 41 A RESOLUTION adopting the distribution of the 2l22HotellMotel tax fund grants, WHEREAS, RCW 39.34.080 and other Washington State law, as amended, authorizes any city to contract with any other citylcounty to perform any govefirnental service, activity or undertaking whioh each contracting city/county is authorized by law to perform; and WHEREAS, the goveming boclies of I(ttitas County and the cities of Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and Roslyn previously entered into an Interlocal Agreement for the purposes of creating a consolidated lodging tax grant process for special events and projects; and WHEREAS, in accotdance with the Interlocal Agreement, ICttitas Corurty solicited applications for the distribution of the 2022HotellMotel tax funds in the form ofreimbursable grants for special events and projects throughout Kittitas County; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Interlocal Agreernent, the respective Lodging Tax Advisory Committees (LTACs) or designees of Ifittitas County and the cities of Ellensburg, Cle Elum, and Roslyn have reviewed all the applications submitted to Ifittitas County; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Interlocal Agreement,ICttitas County compiled the various participating entity's scoring and funding recommendations and forwarded thein to the combined county-wide LTAC Consolidated Work Group for further review; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Interlocal Agreement, the combined county-wide LTAC Consolidated Work Group met in an open public meeting November lg, 20Zl in person and on WebEx to receive presentations from applicants recommended for funding and deliberated to reach afinal funding recommendation which is to be forwarilecl to each entity's legislative body for final approval; and WHEREAS, in accordance with an amendment to the Interlocal Agreement, each participating municipality agreed to make available 13% of their annual lodging tax collections to be awarded through the consolidated lodging tax grant process; and WHEREAS,I(ttitas County designated $174,416.79 to be available for grants as part of this process, Ellensburg designated $45,842.75, Cle Elum designated $21,388.87, and Roslyn designated $595.08; and WHEREAS, thc combined county-wide LTAC Work Group recomrnended expending $242,239.75 of the designated funds; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Interlocal Agreement,IGttitas County will provide notice to each successful applicant and will require a contract be agreed to by each successful applicant prior to funding awards being available for reimbursement; and Resolution - Page I
