Response 1: ProjecUEvent Description * The Ellensburg Dance Ensemble (EDE), in collaboration with Central Washington University (CWU) Theater Arts, Music, and Orchesis Dance Company, will present a spring dance production (to be deternined) and The Nutcracker ballet in falllwinter 2022. These productions will feature local dancers ranging in age from 6 to adult. EDE will also hire two professional ballet dancers from a regional ballet company to play the lead roles to attract a wider audience to our performances. EDE is a not-for-profit pre-professional dance company that has been a pad ofthe Ellensburg community for the past 15 years and sirives to bring the art of dance to Ellensburg and the surrounding areas by performing at community events, providing high-quality dance productions, and offering dancers exceptional dance education oppo(unities. ln the past. EDE's dance productions have included The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz, The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, and more. EDE's dance company is led by artistic directors who have many years of dance and choreography experience from all over the United States. The talents of our leaders create beautiful dance productions that are a joy for the audience members to watch and for the dancers to perform. Collaborating with CWU TheaterArts. Music, and Orchesis Dance Company on productions is a partnership we are going to continue 1o build upon. To increase the caliber and professionalism of produciions, EDE brings professional dancers to play the more challenging roles in some of its productrons and will continue to do so. Theses professional dancers not only provide inspiration and serve as role models for the local dance talent, they also bring in more audience members and appeal to a wider range of theater goers. The target audiences for EDE productions are families with children, as well as dance and arts enthusiasts. from all over central and eastern Washington.
