Methodology
Narrative*
Please explain.
1. We add up each visit (taken at the front desk) to the gallery, our events, our
classes. ln 2020 we are projecting a total of 9,838 visits, a drastic reduction due to
COVID-19. For 2A22 we are optimistically hoping to double those numbers with a
"return to normal" with First Friday attendance, in person events, and the addition of
the studio tours. Projected 2022 allendance is 18,000.
2. We review our Facebook demographics and Google analytics to understand
where our visitors are from.
3. We review our membership and mailing list and see where they are from
4. We review a sample survey from the front desk that asks where visitors are from
for the month of September.
5. We compare the percentages of those from inside the county, out of the county
and out of ihe staie. See attachment.
6. We determine an average perceniage of those from out of the state and out of the
county and apply that to the overall number of visits.
Out of state average of all numbers is 9% plus out of county average is 29% totalling
38% out of Kittitas Couniy.
7. We multiply our projection of visits by these numbers. Our pro.jection fo{ 2022,s
18,000 x .09= 162 Out of state visitors 18000 x .29 = 5220 out of county visitors
totalling 5382
8. We make a modest assumption that 1 out of 30 of these 5382 visitors (out of state
plus out of county) will pay for lodging for '1 .5 nights average. (270 overnighl siays)
We have been using the same methodology since 2014
Case study: Visiting Wenatchee artist Natalie Dotzauer stayed the night with her
family for one night to install the exhibit, one week later, they stayed two nights at
the Hotel Windrow for the Frrst Friday weekend. Their family from Tacoma drove
over and also stayed ai the Windrow for one night. One visiting artisi resulted in four
known overnight paid stays.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 5 i.1o'
8l Funding
Does your organization have, or have you applied for, grant funding from other sources? lf not, why not? lf yes, please list
the funding you have for the project, including any volunteer and in-kind sources in Question 9l Project Budget
Overview.
Funding sources and amounts which have not yet been secured will be listed separately, in the field{s) directly below.
Finally, what changes would occur if the project couldn't be funded?
Other Funding*Does your organizalion have. or have you applied for frndiltg tt'orn ollter sources?
cr Yes '.: No
Funding for which you have applied but not yet secured
Funding Source
Ellensburg Arts Commission
Amount
$ 2,500.00
