Agenda Date: <br />Action Requested: <br />Background: <br />Recommendation: <br />Lead Staff <br />Kittitas County <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Agenda Staff Report <br />January 4,2022 <br />Request the Board to authorizing the Closure of Fund #504 Dental Trust as of <br />December 3L,2O2L <br />On December 2t,2OL7, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution <br />2Ot7-2O5, A resolution establishing Fund 504- Dentalself lnsurance Program. <br />The Board decided to self-insure one of the offered dental plans, Guardian <br />Dental Program. The Board established fund to collect premiums and pay the <br />third-party administrator for the claims and other expenses. This was a self- <br />insurance plan set up per the requirements of RCW 48.52.071 and WAC 200- <br />LL0. When the Board created the fund, a reserve amount had to be established <br />and placed in the fund. Alliant recommended the amount of S18,432 to be the <br />reserye amount. The General Fund transferred the money to the Dental Self- <br />lnsurance Program. <br />Since the County no longer offers, Guardian Dental and no longer has a need for <br />the Trust fund. We recommend the Board approve the closure of this fund. As <br />of December 23,2021,, there is a balance of 5352.67, which the Budget - Finance <br />Director transferred to the General Fund via Auditor's transfer number TT-210- <br />2L. <br />Recommend the Board adopt the Resolution authorizing the closure of Fund #504 <br />Dental Trust as of December 3L,2OZt. <br />Jerry Pettit, County Auditor
