The SSAP traditionally has provided 24 vouchers to literally or immediately homeless seniors, <br />and with this proposal would add to a scarce resource for seniors by increasing the number of <br />avallable vouchers for vulnerable seniors. The increase in rent assistance vouchers would clear <br />the current waitllst of seniors who are homeless or at rlsk of homelessness. lt would not <br />alleviate the future need as there are more than additional 70 seniors identified as potentially <br />eligible for subsidized rent and who are at risk presently, that number wlll lncrease dramatically <br />over the next ten years up to 1000 senior households below the poverty llne. <br />D Promotion of private landlord usage of Section 8 rental vouchers. <br />tr Programs which increase access to affordable home ownership <br />7
