Support from Cle Elum and Ellens.burg <br /> City - Councils <br /> New Busies RESOLUTION NO.2021—31 <br /> Resolution 2021-024—Supporting the Kitdtxa County BOCC to Increase the Saks&Use A Resolution of the City Council for the City of Ellensburg supporting the <br /> Tax for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Support Services: Board of County Commissioners for Kittltas County adopting an ordinance Implementing <br /> Mayor McGowan reported he was approached by Bruce Tabb,Mayor of lillensburg,to speak a sales and use tax foe Increasing access to mental health and substance use disorder <br /> with the council members regarding a tax incmrase to help individuals v ith mental health issues. treatment and support services as authorized by RCW 82.14.4130. <br /> Chief Bland explained the tax provides funding to assist with mental health facilities and <br /> expcdiate care.When responding to a person in mental crisis in the past,the Police rkparimcni <br /> would try to de-escalate the situation and possibly transport to the hospital where a mental health NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council for the City of Ellensburg do resolve as <br /> official would step in. Dui to the new police restrictions,patients arc no longer transported. This follows: <br /> tax will enhance the mental health grogram in Kittitas County to help fill the gap,as we]l as Section 1.
