1 <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Kittitas County Solid Waste Advisory Committee <br />February 20th, 2019 at 3:00pm <br />Kittitas County Solid Waste – 925 Industrial Way <br />Present: Ryan Lyyski, City of Ellensburg <br /> Jesse Cox, KC Health Dept. <br /> Mike Slack, Waste Management <br /> Steve Sowers, South Cle Elum <br /> Bret Wachsmith, Commissioner <br /> <br /> Also present via Skype: <br /> Lyndsey Lopez, Jacobs <br /> Tami Yager, Waste Management <br /> Heather Church, Dept. of Ecology <br /> James Rivard, Dept. of Ecology <br /> <br />Staff Present: Patti Johnson <br />Lisa Lawrence <br />Bryan Nass <br /> <br />Patti Johnson brought the meeting to order at 3:03 pm. <br /> <br />Housekeeping: <br /> <br />Introductions were held on members, visitors and staff present. <br />Approve December 12, 2018 minutes: Ryan Lyyski made a motion to approve the <br />minutes as presented. Patti Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Transfer Station Relocation Update: <br /> <br />Patti informed the Committee that she had met with the City and that they have provided <br />comments on the new site and that the consultant is reviewing them and working on a <br />response. <br /> <br />County Covered Load Ordinance: <br /> <br />Patti informed the Committee that staff had researched and found an existing ordinance <br />addressing the covered load requirement and the ability to collect a fee. Discussion was <br />held on public comments of litter concerns at the New Transfer Stations, fees and <br />programs that other Counties have adopted. Pros and cons of staggered fees for <br />Scalehouse attendants and that an amendment to the existing resolution would have to be <br />adopted to set a fee. Discussion was tabled. <br />
