The cost associated with the items recommended for immediate implementation span both internally
(County) sourced and externally (third party) sourced work. It is CONSULTANTS understanding that County
Parking signage is internally sourced and created via existing suppHer agreements and as such this cost
estimate would be best estimated by the County. In CONSULTANTS experience, and as a comparison,
signage cost for the type of signs recommended in 'cask 2 should be in the $175-$225 range per sign
package (not including installation). The County has already sourced a "Digital Reader Sign" for utilization as
vehicles enter Hyak Dr East and it is recommended that County utilize existing relationships to procure an
additional "Digital Reader Sign" for implementation as delineated in Task 2.
The potential cost of assigning a Deputy from the Kittitas County Sheriff's Department to the Hyak area
from 7:00 AM -5:00 PM Friday -Sunday, during the winter months, is indeterminate. This would be best
estimated by the Kittitas County Sheriff's Department and based upon staffing availability may be impacted
by other factors such as overtime pay policies. It is recommended that an estimate be obtained from them
to help clarify this cost.
CONSULTANT had recommended partnering with a local tow company to provide an on-site/on-call tow
vehicle to post at the entrance to the Hyak area during peak weekends during the winter months.
CONSULTANT was able to determine that Cascade Towing & Repair had previously provided a similar service
to The Summit at Snoqualmie several years ago. As such, they have a general understanding of the
procedures CONSULTANT is recommending and would be a good fit for this partnership. Further sourcing
for comparison services and prices may be warranted. Initial estimated cost to implement this suggestion
is approximately $125.00 per hour.
All other recommendations for immediate or potential future implementation entail staff labor cost
incurred internally by existing County staff and/or would be potentially variable third -party costs based
upon an indeterminate scope of work. As such, CONSULTANT would need to further evaluate in a follow-on
project designed to address the specific scope of those strategies.
0AMI
/Q9
SERVICE/
SINCE 1922
"42"4 0p04&ted,•
