KITTITAS COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES Webex Regular Meeting MONDAY 1:30 PM December 13, 2021 Board members: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, and Commissioner Cory Wright. Others: Josh Fredrickson, Rebecca Cruse, Public Works; Dan Carlson, Jessica Miller, Community Development Services; (1) One Member of the Public. At 1:30 pm Chairman Brett Wachsmith opened the Public Works Study Session. CARES FUNDING SWAP Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on sources of funding for local projects. Josh Fredrickson stated that Public Works is asking for Board approval to use CARES Funding to move forward a project replacing a load limited bridge on vantage Highway, Discussion was held. Staff was directed to move funding as requested. PUBLIC WORKS ELECTRONIC BIDDING Josh Fredrickson stated that Public Works is requesting support from the Board of County Commissioner's lobbyists to implement changes to RCW Chapter 36. Josh Fredrickson continued that the changes would support small county electronic submittal of public works bids and currently due to Kittitas Counties population the code only allows for sealed hardcopy bids. Commissioner Cory Wright requested background documentation on the topic so a discussion can be held at a future meeting with lobbyists. DIAMOND PARKING HYAK PARKING CONSULTING PROJECT REPORT Josh Fredrickson gave background on the report provided by Diamond Parking Services regarding illegal parking issues at Hyak and the surrounding area. Josh Fredrickson stated that staff is requesting direction on the formulation of a regional task force to address the parking issues and concerns involving stakeholders in the area. Discussion was held. Staff was directed to Public Works to set up a meeting with Diamond Parking to discuss further_ Meeting adjourned at 1:48 pm. 2021-12-13 Minutes
