Desiqnation. Fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas include: <br />a. Waters of the state. <br />b. Areas with which federallv-desiqnated endanqered. threatened. and sensitive fish <br />and wildlife species have a primarv association. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service <br />and the National Marine Fisheries Service should be consulted for current federal <br />listinq status.c. Areas with which state-desiqnated endanqered. threatened. and sensitive fish and <br />wildlife species have a primary association. The Washinqton State Department of <br />Fish and Wildlife should be consulted for current state listinq status.d. State prioritv habitats and areas associated with state prioritv species. The <br />state Deoartment of Fish and Wildlife should be consulted for current listinq of prioritv <br />habitats and species.e. Habitats and species of local importance. Kittitas Countv recoqnizes that the <br />prioritv habitats and species designated bv the Washinqton Department of Fish and <br />Wildlife that occur within the Countv are locallv important and are herebv desiqnated <br />as habitats and species of local importance.f. Naturally occurring ponds smaller than twentv (20) acres.g. Lakes. ponds, streams. and rivers planted with qame fish by a oovernment or tribal <br />entitv. <br />h. State natural area preserves. natural resource conservation areas. Natural area <br />preserves and natural resource conservation areas are defined, established. and <br />manaqed bv the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.i. State wildlife areas. State wildlife areas are defined. established. and manaqed bv <br />the Washinqton State Department of Fish and Wildlife.2. Mappinq. The aoproximate location and extent of fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas <br />are shown on the County's critical area maps or other BAS sources. such as the WDFW <br />Prioritv Habitats and Species maps. the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. and the <br />NOM Fisheries critical habitat maps. These maps are to be used as a quide and do not <br />provide deflnitive information about fish and wiblife habitat conservation area size or <br />presence. Fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas mav exist that do not appear on the <br />maps. The Countv shall update the maps periodically as new fish and wildlife habitat <br />conservation areas are identified and as new information becomes available. <br />37
