COMMISSIONERS’ MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC AUDITORIUM via WebEx <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />HR STUDY SESSION <br />Director Young requested approval of an MOU with Council 2, WSCCCE Local 2658 for implementation <br />of the County wage survey, commenting that this has been previously discussed and is ready for <br />signature. Commissioner Wright moved to approve the MOU with Council 2, WSCCCE Local 2658 for <br />implementation of the County wage survey. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the motion. Motion was <br />approved; 2:0. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION/APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION SETTING SALARIES FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS, <br />SPECIFICALLY, COMMISSIONER DISTRICTS 1 & 2 FOR THE TERM 2021-2024 <br />Director Young presented the Board with a recommendation for setting salaries for Elected Officials, <br />specifically Commissioner district 1 and 2, for the term 2021 – 2024. Commissioner Wright commented <br />that he would like all three Commissioners to be present for this discussion, and moved to table the <br />discussion to a special meeting on 4/30/2020 at 11:00 AM. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the <br />motion. Motion was approved; 2:0. After further review of the Board’s schedule, Commissioner Wright <br />moved to amend his first motion and reschedule the 4/30/2020 meeting to 5/01/2020 at 10:00 AM. <br />Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the motion. Motion was approved; 2:0. <br />DICUSSION/DECISION – BUDGET FOR PPE – COVID-19 <br />Director Young requested input from the Board regarding the purchase of personal protective <br />equipment for employees upon their return to work. Maintenance Director Johnson also requested <br />clarification regarding what type of equipment the County will be expected to provide staff, who will be <br />ordering such equipment, and what kind of budget parameters will be expected. Commissioner <br />Osiadacz suggested the creation of a document to set the level of expectations. Director Young replied <br />that she can draft a plan. Commissioner Wright questioned if the County would be responsible for <br />cleaning cloth masks provided to employees, and commented that he would like to hear from Budget & <br />Finance Manager Pless regarding the financial piece of purchasing COVID-related PPE for staff. <br />Maintenance Director Johnson advised the Board that she has a large supply of disinfectant solution <br />that needs to be distributed to departments in smaller bottles/quantities. Director Young commented <br />that she is able to purchase small spray bottles with which to distribute the disinfectant to staff. <br />Commissioner Wright stated that he was comfortable with the purchase of small spray bottles as well as <br />a small supply of disposable masks using the COVID-19 fund; Commissioner Osiadacz agreed. <br />Commissioner Wright requested to table the rest of the discussion in order to gather more information. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Commissioner Osiadacz explained that she has an upcoming meeting with other Commissioners from <br />around the state, and asked if Commissioner Wright had any topics that he would like her to bring up at <br />the meeting. Commissioner Wright responded that he would like to have a broader understanding of <br />construction restrictions, and he would like to hear more about the economic and recreational impacts <br />that COVID and the Stay Home order has had (and will have) on communities that rely on tourism. <br />Commissioner Osiadacz will draft a statement for other counties to support that will be sent to the
