BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. DEMONSTRATING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SUPPORT FOR THE AID APPLICATION TO THE WASHINGTON STATE FLOOD CONTROL ACCOUNT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO SIGN AND EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works submitted an Aid Application to the Washington State Department of Ecology for Flood Control Account Assistance Program Competitive Planning funding; and WHEREAS: The submitted Aid Application will enable the Flood Control Zone District to conduct a flood hazard analysis and engage local community members along the 11 - mile Yakima River Easton Reach, an area that frequently floods several repetitive loss area communities; and WHEREAS: The Department of Ecology notified Kittitas County Public Works that the proposed project was awarded $150,000 in funding; and WHEREAS: The Department of Ecology requires a local cost share requirement of 25% of the project cost; and WHEREAS: The $50,000 of required local match is budgeted within the 2022 Flood Control Zone District Annual Work Plan; and WHEREAS: This project is identified on the Flood Control Zone District Annual Work and six- year work plans. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners declares it be in the best interest of the public and does hereby support the funding request and authorizes the Director of Public Works to sign and execute the Grant Agreement.
