KITTITAS COUNTY <br />FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT <br />NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF SERVICE TO PROVIDE MAP <br />INFORMATION FOR THB NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE <br />PROGRAM <br />The Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District has the responsibility of administering the <br />National Flood Insurance Program in unincorporated Kittitas County. The Flood ControlZone <br />District also provides flood map infonnation sen ices: telling inquirers if property is within a <br />Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), which flood zone it is in, and the base flood elevation. <br />The following inlbrmation is available upon request: <br />o Whether a property is in or out of the SFHA as shown on the current Flood Insurance <br />Rate Map (FIRM), including the following information: the FIRM zone and base flood <br />elevation or depth, if available; the Community Number, PanelNumber and Suffix; the <br />date of the FIRMS's Index; the elevation datum. <br />o Whether a property is in the floodway. <br />o Known flood problerns that are not shown on the FIRM, such as dam l'ailure inundation <br />areas or drainage problems. <br />o The depth of expected flooding (not available in all areas). <br />r Other flood related hazards, such as infbrmation relating to ice jams or erosion. <br />o Historical flood information and photos. <br />e Information about areas that should be protected, such as wetlands or critical habitat. <br />r Handouts on the National Flood lnsurance Program. <br />o Copies of completed elevation certificates. <br />I,f you would like to makp an inquiry, plea.se call 509-962-7523.
