KITTITAS COUNTY <br />FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT <br />NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF SERVICE TO PROVIDE MAP <br />INFORMATION FOR THE NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE <br />PROGRAM <br />The Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District has the responsibility of administering the <br />National Flood Insurance Program in unincorporated Kittitas County. The Flood Control Zone <br />District also provides flood map information services: telling inquirers if property is within a <br />Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), which flood zone it is in, and the base flood elevation. <br />The following information is available upon request: <br />• Whether a property is in or out of the SFHA as shown on the current Flood Insurance <br />Rate Map (FIRM), including the following information: the FIRM zone and base flood <br />eIevation or depth, if available; the Community Number, Panel Number and Suffix; the <br />date of the FIRMS's Index; the elevation datum. <br />• Whether a property is in the floodway. <br />• Known flood problems that are not shown on the FIRM, such as darn failure inundation <br />areas or drainage problems. <br />• The depth of expected flooding (not available in all areas). <br />• Other flood related hazards, such as information relating to ice jams or erosion. <br />• Historical flood information and photos. <br />• Information about areas that should be protected, such as wetlands or critical habitat. <br />• Handouts on the National Flood Insurance Program. <br />• Copies of completed elevation certificates. <br />Ifyou would like to make an inquiry, please call 509-962-7523.
