The Roslyn Cemetery is very unique in that it consists of
27 individual cemeteries scattered across 19 acres of a raooded area within the
boundaries of the City of Roslyn. Prior to 2008 the various lodges and community
groups maintained ihe different Cemeteries. When the Roslyn Ronald Cle Elum
Heritage Club gained non-profit status they took charge of coordinating,
maintaining, and supporting the Roslyn Cemetery Complex. This includes
numerous improvements and large scale projects, the latest being a new Kiosk.
The Kiosk structure was built to provide a protected place to gather as ia,ell as to
house a new lnteractive Digital Kiosk that will provide information on the people
interred in the Roslyn Cemeteries. The structure is also intended to serve as a
place to hold graveside services, especially during the wnter months when snow
often creates challenges to observing graveside burials.
Original plans called for this project to be completed by Memorial Day 2O2A but due
to Covid-19 the projeciwas delayed and is just nowbeing completed this month
(September 2020). Another new addition to the Cemetery was also conrpleted this
past Spring, an ltalian Monument erected by the local Order Sons & Daughters of
Italy and families of ltalian descendants. To celebrate the completion of both
projects and to recognize and thankdonors, \,e had planned on holding multiple
activities including luo separate Dedication Ceremonies, during Menrorial Day
2020. We are optimistic that the activities planned for 2020 will now happen during
Memorial Day urcekend in 2021 .
The following is a draft schedule of events:
Friday Night 5l2\l21: Wine & Cheese Reception for Donors & Volunteers
Saturday 5129121:
.
