This chapter shall apply to all areas of special flood hazards within the jurisdiction of unincorporated Kittitas County. The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Insurance Administrator in a scientific and engineering report entitled "The Flood Insurance Study for Kittitas County, Washington and Incorporated Areas," dated September 24, 2021, and any revisions thereto, with accompanying Flood insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) , and any revisions thereto, are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this chapter. The flood insurance study and the FIRM are on file at the Kittitas County Public Works Department at 411 N Ruby ST, Suite 1, Ellensburg, WA 98926. The best available information for flood hazard area identification as outlined in KCC 14.08.120 shall be the basis for regulation until a new FIRM is issued which incorporates the data utilized under KCC 14.08.120. No structure or land shall hereafter be constructed, located, extended, converted, or altered without full compliance with the terms of this chapter and other applicable regulations. (Ord. 2001-03; Ord. 93-18 § 3.3, 1993). 14.08.055 Penalties for Noncompliance. No structure or land shall hereafter be constructed, located, extended, converted, or altered without full compliance with the terms of this ordinance and other applicable regulations. Violations of the provisions of this ordinance by failure to comply with any of its requirements (including violations of conditions and safeguards established in connection with conditions), is subject to penalties and enforcement under Title 18 KCC.
