KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: August 3, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to establish
County Road Project (CRP) number supporting the
resurfacing of No. 5 Mine Road
BACKGROUND: In 2019 utilities were extended under No. 5 Mine
Road in preparation for the new Public Works
Upper County maintenance facility. No. 5 Mine
Road had been an asphalt paved surface.
Anticipating heavy construction traffic during
construction of the maintenance facility, the utility
project left the surfacing of No. 5 Mine Road from
the transfer station to the end of the road as gravel
surfacing.
INTERACTION:
At this time the bulk of construction on the
maintenance facility is complete and it is proposed
to reestablish the paved surface for No. 5 Mine
Road and meet current width standard. New
pavement will be placed from a point north of the
transfer station entrance to the end of the road.
County forces will perform the work to pave the
roadway. Funding in the amount of $69,700.00 will
come from the County Road fund.
Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution establishing a County Road
Project (CRP) number supporting the resurfacing of
No. 5 Mine Road.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution establishing CRP No. 307-21
LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson, County Engineer
