Candie Leader
From: Mekenzie <mekenziejohnston@gmail.com>
Sent: Monday, May 24, 2021 9:37 AM
To: Kittitas County Public Works
Subject: Reducing the Speed Limit on Barnes Road to 35 mph
CAUTION: This email originated from outside the Kittitas County network. Do not click links, open
attachments, fulfill requests, or follow guidance unless you recognize the sender and have verified the content
is safe.
To Whom It May Concern -
I'm writing is support of reducing the speed limit on Barnes Road in Ellensburg to 35 mph. I was raised at this
address and even when the road was less travelled there were several times when vehicles would speed past
our house. I know we lost countless cats to cars and trucks driving too quickly. We also had an injured dog.
Presently, my parents still reside there and my three young children, all under 7, often visit. They ride bikes,
roller skate and play with the neighboring kids on the road. We would like Kittitas County to consider reducing
the speed limit to 35 mph so we can feel more comfortable while our kids travel to and from neighboring
homes and can continue to play despite the increase in traffic.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Mekenzie Kmack
471 Barnes Road
Ellensburg, WA 98926
Sent from my iPhone
