KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />Webex <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM June 28, 2021 <br />Board members present: Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz, and Commissioner <br />Cory Wright <br />Others: Mark Cook, Josh Fredrickson, Rebecca Cruse, Arden Thomas, <br />Public Works; Dan Carlson, Jessica Miller, Jeremy Johnston, Bridget <br />Pechtel, Community Development Services; Neil Caulkins, Prosecuting <br />Attorney's Office;(4) Members of the Public <br />At 1:45 pm Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />CITY OF CLE ELUM AIRPORT SURVEY <br />Mark Cook requested the Board of County Commissioners to waive fees <br />for surveying at the Cle Elum Airport Property. Mark Cook gave <br />background on the potential for this land and requested approval to <br />use the existing Interlocal Agreement between Public Works and City <br />of Cle Elum to provide these services. Mark Cook added that Justin <br />Turnbull, County Surveyor would be performing the survey work. Staff <br />was directed to move forward with the surveying and waived the cost <br />to the City of Cle Elum. <br />FAUST ROAD SPEED STUDY <br />Josh Fredrickson presented findings of recent traffic study on Faust <br />Road that was prompted by a request to lower the speed limit in that <br />area. Josh Fredrickson requested direction on setting a Public <br />Hearing for July 20, 2021, to present the Engineer's report. <br />Commissioner Cory Wright stated that the creation of criteria for <br />county roads to meet for a speed study to be conducted. Commissioner <br />Cory Wright added that he would like Public Works to work on a plan <br />for the exhaustive process. Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz agreed with <br />Commissioner Cory Wright. Staff was directed to move forward with <br />setting a public hearing. <br />BARNES ROAD SPEED STUDY <br />Josh Fredrickson presented findings of Barnes Road Traffic Study and <br />requested to schedule Public Hearing for July 20, 2021. Commissioner <br />Cory Wright reiterated that he would like to see more compelling <br />evidence in the requests and deployment of the road speed reduction <br />process but approves the request to schedule a Public Hearing. Vice - <br />Chairman Laura Osiadacz agreed, and staff was directed to move <br />forward with scheduling a public hearing - <br />2021 -06-28 MINUTES <br />
