Kittitas Counfy <br />Office of the County Treasurer <br />Amy Cziske, Treasurer <br />June23,202l <br />Board of Counly Commissioners <br />205 Wes15'l'Ave Suite 108 <br />Ellensburg, WA 98926 <br />RE: Admissions Tax- 2021 Eastside Vocational, Overcoming Obstacles: Fighting MS <br />Board Members: <br />The Board of County Commissioners has received an event application from Eastside Vocational <br />to host Overcoming Obstacles: Fighting MS on August 21,2A21 . <br />Based upon review of the application for this event, this event would be exempt from the <br />collections of Admission tax based upon Kittitas County Code 3.2 Admissions Tax section <br />3.22.030 exemptions (c) which states: <br />The admissious tax imposed by this ordinance shall not apply to any portion of an admission <br />charge which is designated for donation to a nonprofit organization as defined in this chapter, <br />provided: to otherwise qualifr for this exemption, the natural or coryorate person charging <br />admission to any place must: obtain advanced, written approval fi'orn the legislative authority of <br />the county; clearly identi$ the portion of the admission charge designated as a donation on the <br />face of the ticket; and, provide 1he Treasurer with suf{icient documentation, including books, <br />records and/or accounts, to clearly establish donated amounts collected and delivered to the <br />nonprofil organization, by December 3l st of each year. <br />However, if any portion of the admission fee is not dorrated admission tax needs to be collected <br />and remitted. <br />Any person conducting or operating any activity for which an admission charge is rnade shallregisteron1lreIreasurer,sadmissionstaxwebsite:' <br />If there are any questions, please contact me <br />ttrrs Myro <br />Fiscal Technician II I Kittitas County Treasurer <br />205 West Fifth o Courthouse Room #102 <br />Ellensburg, Washington 98926 <br />Phone (509) 962-7535 r Facsimile (509)933-8212
