Multiple attempts at repairing the <br />stave pipe were made due to not knowing if this was a live line or not. None of the repair attempts were successful. <br />City engineers came out to verify that this pipe was to be abandoned. The pipe was crushed in place and backfilled <br />with 1 Tr" minus drain rock. There was one soft spot found during excavation that was next to a bollard that was to be <br />removed. The unsuitable material was dug out and filled with Y, CY of concrete. Due to the soft nature of the <br />subgrade, during paving the foaded trucks created ruts inlo the subgrade as they backed up to the paving machine. ln <br />order to contlnue with paving, this was compensated for with additional HMA placed. This required an additional j 6.26 <br />TNS of HMA.
