The originol plon, its supporting tourism plon, ond the ottending surveys ond studies, <br />did o remorkoble iob of cotegorizing Kittitos County's ossets, needs, chollenges, ond <br />opportunities. lt wos comprehensive ond ospirolionol, but more thon onyone could hove expected <br />the County stoff to toke on withoul o dedicoted Porks ond Recreotion stoff. I om excited to see <br />the County setting priorities ond providing stoff with the guidonce they'll need to begin <br />oddressing recreotionql infrostructure needsl The priorities selected in the revision moke good <br />sense ond ploy to the County's stonding expertise. <br />As o resident of Thorp ond on employee of the Mountoins to Sound Greenwoy trust, I om <br />personolly ond professionolly engoged in severol troil/occess plonning proiects locolly. The best <br />known of these is the Towns to Teonowoy (T2T) proiect, on effort io link the Upper County <br />communities of Cle Elum, Roslyn, ond Ronold over privote londs to the Teonowoy Community <br />Forestvio o sustoinoble system of nonmotorized troils. ln 2019, the Kitiltos County Porks ond <br />Recreotion District # I (KPRD 1 ) officiolly took on the role of legol ond f iscol sponsor for T2T. As o <br />subordinote group of Kittitos County government, KPRDI hos token some initiol steps down the <br />poth the revised PROS plon looks to pove - holding eosements for public recreotionol omenities, <br />providing some mointenonce services, ond offering some guidelines for sofe ond responsible <br />recreotion. <br />Considering KPRDI's officiol stonding with the County, ond T2T's stotus os o sponsored KPRDI <br />proiect, I would like to encouroge the revised PROS plon to specificolly coll out Towns to <br />Teonowoy under Plon Element l: Troil Systems. Officiol recognition in municipol plonning <br />documents is often o requirement for proiects like T2T to pursue gronts ond other funding <br />opportunities for copitol construction.
