Board of Health Minutes <br />May 20,202] <br />2 of2 <br />DD Update <br />Kasey Knutson gave an update regarding the Developmental Disabilities program on the following items; <br />•Subcontractor update <br />o Elmview and Entrust continue to provide services,Yakima Valley Memorial is amending <br />their contract due to COVID. <br />•Funding <br />o Washington State has allowed for a temporary rate increase to employment and day <br />services. <br />•Trainings in Kittitas County. <br />Department updates <br />Director's Report <br />Tristen Lamb updated the board on staffing changes in the department: <br />•Katie Odiaga has accepted the Fiscal Analyst position,hired to replace Tina who is retiring in <br />August <br />•Madi Gigstead has accepted the Public Health Technician position <br />•Case and contact investigators;one hired and,looking for one more <br />•Public Health Nurse will be increasing to full time in July <br />•Interviews scheduled for COVID planning positions <br />•Lianne Bradshaw will be back from maternity leave June 1 <br />Ms.Lamb also gave an update regarding Engrossed Second Substitute House Bill 1152,which was signed <br />by Governor Inslee on May 10.Implementation is over a year away,and some details still need fine tuning. <br />Ms.Lamb is still awaiting more guidance from the Washington State Department of Health before making <br />a recommendation to the board regarding expanding the BOH or BOHAC. <br />Health Officer Update <br />Dr.Mark Larson updated the board on the following topics: <br />•Vaccination rates in Kittitas County <br />•COVID-19 case numbers <br />•Governor Inslee phases/reopening dates <br />•New masking guidance from the CDC <br />There were questions from the board regarding vaccine boosters,serious illness in the young and <br />healthy,and about what info goes home with patients with COVID-19 after discharge from the hospital. <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:24 am <br />Brett Wachsmith,Chair of the Board of Health <br />Tristen Lamb Di ctor <br />i <br />¯'Kittitas Cour ublic Health <br />K e Odiaga,Clerk of the Boa I h
