BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - <br />Adopting the 2021 fUttitas County Recreation and Tourism Plan <br />WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners adopted the 2016 "Kittitas County, Washington <br />Park, Recreation & Open Space (PROS) Plan" with Resolution 2016-076; and <br />WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners has met on numerous occasions in 2021 revising <br />the 2016 plan to prioritize implementation of plan elements and their associated actions, <br />and to include Tourism actions into a single Recreation and Tourism Plan; and <br />WHEREAS: A public comment period was open from March 11, 2021 until May 7, 2021, and staff <br />has incorporated comments that were received into the final plan draft; and <br />WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners did conduct an open public hearing duly advertised <br />on June 15, 2021, receiving final comments on the the proposed final draft of the 2021 <br />Kittitas County Recreation and Tourism Plan; and <br />WHEREAS: The 2021 Kittitas County Recreation and Tourism Plan meets the planning requirements <br />of the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office; and <br />WHEREAS: Maintaining and enhancing recreation and tourism opportunities in Kittitas County is <br />essential to promoting public health and welfare; and <br />WHEREAS: An important segment of the County economy benefits from access to recreation and <br />recreation based amenities; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest <br />of the public, does hereby adopt the 2021 Kittitas County Recreation and Tourism Plan and all related <br />appendices and supporting documentation (Attachment A). <br />DATED this 15th day of June 2021, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
