Plan Element 3: Special Purpose Facilities <br />3.0 OBJECTIVE: Coordinate and support the development and operation of facilities that have special or <br />unique interests, impacts or relevance to Kittitas County residents that may not be provided by another public or <br />private agency as outlined in the 2016 PROS plan. If practical, coordinate and assist other public and private <br />agencies including the Suncadia, The Nature Conservancy, Washington State Horse Park, among others, with <br />interpretive centers, museums, and other specialized facilities throughout Kittitas County. Local groups with <br />specialized interests and focus such as the Teanaway Community Forests Advisory Board, Kittitas County Field <br />and Stream, and Trout Unlimited may be of coordination interest as well. <br />Action Item 3.1 Special enterprises <br />3.1 Where appropriate and economically feasible, support the development and operation of specialized and <br />special interest recreational facilities, such as water parks, non- profit and for-profit retreats and conference <br />centers, art and performing theaters, archery and gun ranges for Kittitas County residents and tourists. <br />3.1.2 Where appropriate, participate in joint planning and operating programs with other public and private <br />agencies for special activities like downtown farmers' markets, farm and barn tours, quilt tours, winery and <br />brewery tours, farm stays and bed- and -breakfasts, and other throughout Kittitas County. <br />13 <br />
