Press Release <br />Public Works <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />2021 Kittitas County Recreation and Tourism Plan <br />Kittitas County, WA - 04/06/2021 - The Public Works department is requesting public comment of <br />the 2021 Recreation and Tourism Plan. <br />The plan outlines the choices that are available, and the means for implementing preferred actions <br />found to be of most benefit to all Kittitas County residents as well as the accommodations of <br />increasing year-round recreation and tourism pressures. This document is a revision to the previously <br />adopted 2016 Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Plan (PROS), as well as the Kittitas County Tourism <br />Plan, that outline the County's recreational demand and proposed implementation actions found to <br />attract and benefit tourists as tourism is a major economic development objective and opportunity <br />for Kittitas County. <br />The 2021 Kittitas County Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan (PROS) is organized in two parts. <br />Part One addresses recreation elements that are now being targeted for lead action by the County <br />(Trail Systems, Resource Parks and Special Purpose Facilities) and includes the role the County is <br />expected to play in strategically implementing all elements of the Recreation and Tourism Plan. Part <br />One contains priority action items expected to be implemented by Board employees using County <br />financial and human resources.
