KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />Webex <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM May 24, 2021 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br />Others: Mark Cook, Candie Leader Josh Fredrickson, Rebecca <br />Cruse, Nicole Ogan, Public Works; Dan Carlson, Mike Flory, <br />Community Development Services, Neil Caulkins, Prosecuting <br />Attorney's Office <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Brett Wachsmith opened the Public Works <br />Study Session. <br />2021 RECREATION AND TOURISM PLAN PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Mark Cook gave background on the Recreation and Tourism Plan <br />and stated that in March 2021 Public Works finalized the <br />elements of the plan and published the plan for public comment <br />from April 6, 2021 to May 7, 2021. Mark Cook continued that <br />staff member, Nicole Ogan, complied the comments for <br />discussion. Mark Cook added that in reviewing the comments most <br />of them will be easy to manage and if the Board decides to move <br />forward with adoption of the plan a commitment will need to be <br />made to keep the plan current. Mark Cook requested direction on <br />setting a public hearing at the June 1, 2021 agenda for <br />consideration of adoption on June 15, 2021. Discussion was <br />held. Staff was directed to move forward with setting a public <br />hearing at the June 1, 2021 agenda session. <br />PRIVATE ROAD CERTIFICATION LIST <br />Mark Cook presented historical background on private road <br />certifications and that the staff report references the 2005 <br />road standards which should reflect the 2004 road standards. <br />Mark Cook continued that after a recent conversation with a <br />representative for the local Realtors it was discovered the <br />requirement for road certifications was not known. Mark Cook <br />added that staff was able to compile a list for publishing on <br />the county website for the Realtor community and public to <br />access to confirm if a certification was completed. <br />Commissioner Cory Wright thanked staff for the quick turnaround <br />on getting the listing completed. <br />2021-05-24 MINUTES <br />
