Compilation of comments received <br />in response to request for input on <br />the revised 2021 Recreation and <br />Tourism Plan <br />2021 RECREATION AND TOURISM PLAN <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Public Works staff opened a public comment period ending May 7, 2021. The plan was sent via email <br />attachment to a list of potential stakeholders and interested parties on March 11, 2021. The plan was <br />also announced and made available via Press Release, Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) Facebook <br />page, and the Northern Kittitas County Tribune April 6, 2021. There appeared to be interest in the plan <br />by many people and groups, but actual comments are somewhat limited. Comments were received via <br />email from Grant County PUD, Mountains to Sound Greenway, Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, <br />Cie Elum Downtown Association, and The Nature Conservancy. See the published press release below: <br />Press Release Public Works <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />2021 Kittitas County Recreation and Tourism Plan <br />Kittitas County, WA - 04/06/2021 - The Public Works department is requesting public comment of the <br />2021 Recreation and Tourism Plan. <br />The plan outlines the choices that are available, and the means for implementing preferred actions found <br />to be of most benefit to all Kittitas County residents as well as the accommodations of increasing year- <br />round recreation and tourism pressures. This document is a revision to the previously adopted 2016 Parks, <br />Recreation, and Open Spaces Plan (PROS), as well as the Kittitas County Tourism Plan, that outline the <br />County's recreational demand and proposed implementation actions found to attract and benefit tourists <br />as tourism is a major economic development objective and opportunity for Kittitas County. <br />The 2021 Kittitas County Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan (PROS) is organized in two parts.
