Compilation of comments received in response to request for input on the revised 2021 Recreation and Tourism Plan 2021 RECREATION AND TOURISM PLAN INTRODUCTION Public Works staff opened a public comment period ending May 7, 2021. The plan was sent via email attachment to a list of potential stakeholders and interested parties on March 11, 2021. The plan was also announced and made available via Press Release, Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) Facebook page, and the Northern Kittitas County Tribune April 6, 2021. There appeared to be interest in the plan by many people and groups, but actual comments are somewhat limited. Comments were received via email from Grant County PUD, Mountains to Sound Greenway, Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, Cie Elum Downtown Association, and The Nature Conservancy. The plan outlines the choices that are available, and the means for implementing preferred actions found to be of most benefit to all Kittitas County residents as well as the accommodations of increasing year- round recreation and tourism pressures. This document is a revision to the previously adopted 2016 Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Plan (PROS), as well as the Kittitas County Tourism Plan, that outline the County's recreational demand and proposed implementation actions found to attract and benefit tourists as tourism is a major economic development objective and opportunity for Kittitas County.
