The <br />definition of <br />"development" <br />updated to include <br />DOE's language. <br />This amendment proposes to update the definition of "development" as found in KCC <br />178.02.180 Definitions. The Department of Ecology's permit rules clarifies that "development" <br />does not include dismantling or removing structures. The updated definition of "development" <br />would add the following sentence: <br />"'Development' does not include dismantling or removing structures if there is no other <br />associated development or re-development." <br />Final SMP Draft <br />1 7 8.O2.1 80 Development. <br />"Development" means a use consisting of the construction or exterior alteration of structures, <br />dredging, drilling, dumping, filling; removal of any sand, gravel or minerals; bulkheading; driving <br />of pilings; placing of obstructions; interior building improvements that do not change the use or <br />occupancy; or any project of a permanent or temporary nature that interferes with the normal <br />public use of the surface of the waters overlying lands subject to the Shoreline Management Act <br />at any stage state of water level. Residential development includes single-family development, <br />multi-family development, and the creation of new residential lots through subdivision. <br />"Development" does not include dismantling or removing structures if there is no other <br />associated development or redevelopment.
