Shoreline visioning process <br />To kick-off the process of developing the regional SMP, community-wide visioning <br />sessions were held in Ellensburg and Cle Elum to gather input on how the shoreline <br />areas should look five (5) to ten (10) years from now. Community visioning <br />questionnaires were also distributed widely throughout the County to solicit feedback. <br />Community members provided input on topics such as public access, water-related and <br />water-dependent uses, recreation, restoration activities and more. A summary of the <br />community visioning process can be found in the Community Visioning Report dated <br />October 2012. <br />4.2. Regional Shoreline Master Program website <br />A web page was developed and hosted on the Kittitas County website to share <br />information about the regional SMP update process and to provide opportunities for the <br />public to submit comments and input. <br />The webpage contained a range of information and documentation related to the <br />development of the SMP update process including : <br />- background materials <br />- public participation plan and process timeline <br />- frequently asked questions <br />- information on how to participate in the process <br />- community visioning questionnaire <br />- information on advisory committees <br />- meeting materials and summaries <br />- key contacts <br />The webpage was kept current and maintained throughout the duration of the <br />update. <br />5. Technical Advisory Committee <br />Kittitas County, with input from the Cities and Town invited a group of representatives <br />within the scientific community from statewide agencies, the Yakama Nation, the private <br />sector, and academia to participate on the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). The <br />purpose of the TAC was to help focus technical discussions and identify key technical <br />and policy issues associated with the SMP update process. The TAC provided input <br />on data inventory and materials collection, shoreline characterization, shoreline <br />analysis, shoreline designations, shoreline restoration, and monitoring and enforcement <br />efforts. The TAC met monthly between April 2012 and August 2012. Meetings were <br />open to the public. <br />6.3. Public Participation Opportunities Open public forums and public meeting events
