<br />17B.02.070 Alluvial fan or alluvial fan hazard area. <br />"Alluvial fan" or "Alluvial fan hazard area" is a low, outspread, relatively flat-to- gentle sloping <br />features deposited by a stream at the transitional area between valley floodplains and steep <br />mountain slopes. Channel pattern is highly variable, often dependent on substrate size and age of <br />the landform. Channels may change course frequently, resulting in a multi-branched stream network. <br />Channels can also be deeply incised within highly erodible alluvial material. (Ord. 2016-006, 2016) <br /> <br />17B.02.080 Amendment. <br />"Amendment" means a revision, update, addition, deletion, and/or reenactment to an existing <br />shoreline master program. (Ord. 2016-006, 2016) <br /> <br />17B.02.090 Approval. <br />"Approval" means an official action by a local government legislative body agreeing to submit a <br />proposed shoreline master program or amendments to the Washington State Department of <br />Ecology for review and official action pursuant to this chapter; or an official action by the <br />Washington State Department of Ecology to make a local government shoreline master program <br />effective, thereby incorporating the approved shoreline master program or amendment into the <br />state master program. (Ord. 2016-006, 2016) <br /> <br />17B.02.100 Aquaculture. <br />"Aquaculture" means the culture or farming of fish, shellfish, or other aquatic plants and animals. <br />Aquaculture does not include the harvest of wild geoduck associated with the state managed <br />wildstock geoduck fishery. (Ord. 2016-006, 2016) <br /> <br />17B.02.101 Archaeological object. <br />“Archaeological object” means an object that comprises the physical evidence of an indigenous and <br />subsequent culture, including material remains of past human life, including monuments, symbols, <br />tools, facilities, and technological by-products. (Ord. 2019-003, 2019) <br /> <br />17B.02.102 Archaeological site. <br />"Archaeological site" means a geographic locality that contains archaeological objects. (Ord. 2019- <br />003, 2019) <br /> <br />17B.02.103 Archaeological survey. <br />“Archaeological survey” means a formal archaeological study completed by a professional <br />archaeologist that conforms to, and is reported consistent with, DAHP’s then-current archaeological <br />survey and reporting standards; and which at a minimum includes background research and a field <br />investigation that includes appropriate sub-surface methodology. (Ord. 2019-003, 2019) <br /> <br />17B.02.105 Average grade level. <br />"Average grade level" means the average of the natural or existing topography of the portion of the <br />lot, parcel, or tract of real property which will be directly under the proposed building or structure.
