PRO]ICT PROPOSAL
This p oposal seeks to develop, deliver, and measure effectiveness of a community
outrea h and education program related to COVID-19, and the role of public health
Learn the landsca . I'll establish contacts and develop relationships with staff,
partners, community members and stakeholders. I'll listen to their experiences thus far,
and gather information about which audiences have been reached and the ways in
which people have received outreach with an eye toward what worked well and what
did not.
Kittita County's population is very diverse spanning all socio-economic groups, havie a
spectrum of knowledge in health literacy, and who may or may not understand English.
Starting with a clear understanding of and articulated community interests and concerns
would then allow for the creation links between community priorities and public health
goals.Such understanding comes from listening to the formal and informal networks
that et.
Meaningful communications. The diversity of the people in Kittitas County requires
careful and thoughtful consideration of how and when to message about COVID-19.
The intent is to inform, educate and empower people with information about COVID-19,
and to mobilize community partnerships who can the act together to identify and
reducO barriers to returning to a healthy, prosperous community.
Information and education will be delivered to the community through a variety of
mechanisms and channels'; including, but not limited to digitally produced (for social
media and web use), printed materials, such as brochures and flyers, and image and
other forms of media. Key information will be translated from English to Spanish using
back ranslation, whereby a translated document is then reviewed by a local Spanish
sma er to check the accuracy and readability of the information.
;sage content follows these guidelines:
• Not only relevant and accurate but also unbiased and nonjudgmental
• Culturally competent
• Easily accessible for people with disabilities, ESL audiences and seniors
• Balanced, recognizing risks as well as benefits
• Available to as many people who need the information as possible
,nnstrate effectiveness. By sustaining mutually beneficial partnership and sharing of
)r nation, measure and show how this effort has moved the dial in terms of
)r ing and educating the public about COVID-19.
